Assistant Team Leader

Here at GXO Southampton, we are recruiting for an Assistant Team Leader to join our team, working in partnership with our customer Healf.
You will be working full-time, permanent basis, on an ‘Any 5 days out of 7’ pattern, on a rotating shift, covering the hours of 07:00 to 15:30 and 13:00 to 21:30.

What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Support the Team Leader with the day-to-day running of your warehouse area, ensuring operational targets, deadlines and customer requirements are achieved safely and efficiently
- Lead by example on health and safety, carrying out inductions, training and safe systems of work, whilst promoting a positive and compliant working environment
- Provide guidance and support to warehouse operatives and agency colleagues, helping to resolve queries, maintain productivity and encourage strong team performance
- Monitor stock movements, equipment and operational processes, identifying issues, reporting deviations and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the operation
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- Previous experience working in a fast-paced warehouse, logistics or operational environment, with experience supporting or supervising teams desirable
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate colleagues, build relationships and provide excellent support to your team
- A good understanding of health and safety requirements, operational procedures and the importance of accuracy in a customer-focused environment
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads, use initiative and remain calm while managing changing priorities and operational demands
