Transport General Manager

Here at GXO, we have a great opportunity for you to join us as the Transport General Manager for our Coop contract based at Lea Green, WA9. You’ll be accountable for the safety, legal compliance, operator licencing and efficient execution of transport plans, ensuring customer SLA's/KPI's are delivered. In this position you will lead the Transport Team to ensure a best in class service is delivered for our customer, together with the performance and motivation of the team through regular performance dialogues, objective setting along with scheduled quarterly 1-2-1's with all your direct reports, plus lead the communication and engagement on site.
This role is offered on a full time, permanent basis, working Monday to Friday, 08:00 till 16:00, however, this is logistics and we ask for some flexibility!

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £75,000.00 per annum, and 33 days annual leave (inclusive of bank holidays) plus a bonus scheme. What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Managing daily operational issues and driving resolution for transport operations
- Managing customer relationships and expectations, including meetings, regular reporting and maintaining service levels and KPI’s, together with achievement of Bonus Malus targets
- Drive the success of the operation through your team
- Accident management - Ensure all information are provided by managers, all accidents on fastworks, investigation completed. Driving down accident rates to the GXO KPI levels on the contract
- Hold the CPC and O license responsibility for site, ensuring management to be compliant in GXO audits.
- Provide leadership and guidance for the transport team
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- International Managers CPC
- IOSH Managing Safely
- Strong experience of managing customer relationships preferably in a 3PL environment
- Food retail background advantageous
- Trade Union experience is essential
