Inbound and Storage Operations Lead
We’re looking for a sharp, delivery‑focused Inbound and Storage Operations Lead to turn inbound and storage strategy into actionable plans — driving efficient inbound flows, smart storage utilisation, and operational readiness.
This role puts you at the heart of short‑ and medium‑term planning, performance insight, and continuous improvement, directly influencing capacity, service, and cost across the retail network.

You will be joining our team in Stafford and working for our customer Screwfix.
This is a full time, permanent position, where you’ll be working Monday – Friday, 08:00 – 16:00, 37.5 hours per week. Some flexibility is required; this is logistics after all! Please note there will be a requirement at times to travel between our Retail sites across the network.

What you'll do on a typical day:
- Translate inbound and storage strategies into clear, actionable short- and medium-term plans that support network capacity, service, and cost objectives
- Manage warehouse storage profiles to maximise space utilisation and ensure operational resilience across the retail network
- Plan and coordinate inbound activity for key network events, working closely with Supply Chain, Transport, and Operational site teams
- Identify performance gaps, risks, and constraints, leading corrective actions in collaboration with stakeholders
- Provide data-led insights and recommendations to support decision-making at M2 and senior operational level
- Work cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Retail, Transport, and Central teams to deliver joined-up network plans
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- Strong experience in inbound logistics, network planning, or warehouse operations within a retail or fast-paced environment
- Highly developed analytical skills with the ability to turn data into clear, actionable insights
- Experience working with WMS, planning tools, Excel, and data visualisation platforms
- A continuous improvement mindset, focused on efficiency, cost control, and operational effectiveness
