Warehouse Team Manager

We are currently recruiting for a Warehouse Team Manager to join our team in Stafford, for our customer, Screwfix. This is a chance to be part of a fast-paced and challenging area of work to assist the Lead Team Managers and Shift Operations Manager in maintaining performance of the warehouse operations.

 

This is a full time, permanent position, predominately working on a rotating day shift pattern, covering the hours of 06:00 to 14:00and 14:00 to 22:00. However, we do ask for some flexibility. This is logistics after all!

What you'll do on a typical day:

 

  • Be Responsible for Health & Safety and the Environment during shift whilst ensuring Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s)
  • Ensure co-ordination and handover management between shifts, as well as resource availability and skilled trained resources
  • Translate, analyse and deliver customer needs as well as deliver consistent service levels to exceed customer expectations
  • Carry out effective leadership, management and communication with all warehouse departments
  • Be responsible for ensuring high levels of excellence in culture and behaviour, treating employees with respect and promoting diversity, whilst supporting colleagues through excellent communication and active leadership
  • Recognise and proactively manage continuous improvement initiatives and ensure all internal/ external KPIs are achieved and reviewed regularly

 

What you need to succeed at GXO:

 

  • Operational Experience, with knowledge of Health & Safety requirements
  • Excellent organisation/ time management, interpersonal, leadership, motivation and planning skills
  • People management, including experience of disciplinary investigations and other people processes
  • Excellent communicator (verbal & written) and able to interact at all levels and able to work within a team
  • Ability to work without direct supervision
  • Use of Microsoft packages including Excel and Word with good analytical and numerical skills
