Goods In Operative

We’re looking for a dependable and driven Goods In Operative to join our energetic team in Stowmarket. If you have FLT experience and a passion for keeping warehouse operations running smoothly, this could be the perfect next step in your career.
As part of GXO at AkzoNobel, you’ll contribute to a company recognised worldwide for innovation, sustainability, and operational excellence, delivering high-quality solutions in over 150 countries.
This is a full-time, fixed-term role running until 31st July 2026, working 12-hour shifts on an any 5 from 7 basis. The role follows a 3-week rotating shift pattern:
- Week 1: Days (06:00–18:00, Mon–Fri)
- Week 2: Nights (18:00–06:00, Sun–Tue)
- Week 3: Nights (18:00–06:00, Wed–Fri)
This rota totals 186 shifts per year and includes both day and night work. This is an excellent opportunity for someone comfortable with a dynamic shift pattern, looking to gain valuable experience in a fast-paced logistics environment.

What you will do on a typical day:
- Putaway pallets into warehouse racking from Goods Inwards
- Unload and tip trailers, managing incoming stock efficiently
- Operate conveyor systems to unload and retrieve pallets
- Replenish stock across pick locations
- Support with general warehouse duties, including housekeeping, stock checks, and assisting other departments
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- Valid Forklift Truck (FLT) license – Counterbalance and/or Reach Truck preferred
- Proven experience in a fast-paced warehouse environment
- Ability to follow health & safety guidelines and standard operating procedures
- Good attention to detail and strong teamwork skills
- Flexibility to adapt to different tasks and areas as needed.
