HR Advisor

Here at GXO, we’re looking for an experienced HR Advisor to join our NHS Supply Chain contract in Bury St. Edmunds. Working on-site, you’ll partner with managers to provide expert Employee Relations (ER) support, ensuring HR policies are applied consistently and compliantly while helping to create a positive employee experience.
You’ll play a key role in managing ER cases, supporting absence management, delivering people-focused initiatives, using data to identify trends and drive improvements across the site.
This is a full-time, permanent position. You will work Monday to Friday, 08:00 till 16:00 or 09:00 till 17:00.

What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Manage a varied Employee Relations caseload, including disciplinary, grievance, absence management, and flexible working cases
- Coach and support managers on HR policies, employment law, and best practice case management
- Monitor absence trends and work with managers and Occupational Health to improve attendance and wellbeing outcomes
- Support recruitment, onboarding, contract changes, and wider HR administration activities
- Contribute to employee engagement initiatives, training programmes, and continuous improvement of HR processes
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- CIPD Level 3 qualified, with experience in a fast-paced operational environment and a proactive, customer-focused approach
- Strong organisational and analytical skills, with good knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, including experience working with stakeholders and Trade Unions
- Strong understanding of employment law and HR best practice, with the confidence to advise managers at all levels
- Experience managing high volumes of Employee Relations cases
