Class 1 Driver

Here at GXO Swindon we are looking for HGV Class 1 Drivers to join our transport team, supporting our customer B&Q. You’ll be part of a team that works together to keep projects moving, ensuring every delivery helps create homes people love.

 

You will be working on a full-time, permanent basis, contracted to 48 hours per week. We are currently recruiting for the following shift patterns:

 

  • Any 5 days from 7, with start time window of 22:00 to 03:00
  • Any 5 days from 7, with start time window of 10:00 to 15:00

What you will do on a typical day:

 

  • Carry out a mix of multidrop and trunking deliveries, typically averaging 1 to 4 drops per shift, while collecting waste from stores in line with operational requirements
  • Handle both palletised goods and cages, ensuring safe and efficient loading and unloading procedures
  • Maintain clear communication with the Depot Transport Office regarding any issues and deliver exemplary customer service by being polite and courteous at all times
  • Operate company vehicles in a safe, legal, and efficient manner​​​​​​​ while ensuring required documents are completed accurately and on time

 

What you need to succeed at GXO:

 

  • Previous experience driving Class 1 vehicles is essential
  • Full UK driving licence with category C+E entitlement
  • Valid Driver Qualification and Digital Tachograph Cards
  • No more than 6 current penalty points
  • No DR, DG, DD, BA, CD, AC, LC or TT99 endorsements
