QHSE Manager

Here at GXO, we are looking for a Health & Safety Manager to join our BMW contract in Swindon. You will oversee the site’s QHSE function, providing expert advice and support on all aspects of health, safety, environment, ESG and engagement objectives. Implement, maintain, and manage systems to ensure a safe and compliant workplace for all staff, visitors, agency workers, and contractors. Promote and drive a safety culture to assist in the delivery of Road to Zero.

 

You will join us on a full time, permanent basis, primarily working Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 17:00. However, some flexibility is required, due to the nature of the role. This is logistics after all!

What you’ll do on a typical day:

 

  • Responsible for ensuring that the site is 100% safety compliant. Leading the delivery of the site safety strategy and providing QHSE support and guidance to the operational teams
  • Develop, implement, and maintain management systems aligned to ISO and TISAX standards
  • Lead the creation and execution of the annual site Safety, Health & Environmental Management Improvement Plan
  • Facilitate the reporting and investigation of all incidents, near misses, and hazards, ensuring root causes are addressed and preventative actions are implemented
  • Manage site safety documentation, audits, and reporting, including insurance and legal compliance
  • Coordinate planned maintenance and ensure full understanding of fire, gas, electrical, and water systems

 

What you need to succeed at GXO:

 

  • NEBOSH General or NVQ level 3 and following CPD programme
  • Additional qualifications such as DGSA, IOSH, HACCP, Fire, Environmental
  • Lead Auditor qualification for ISO standards – desirable and Certified TISAX Practitioner (CTISAXP) – highly desirable
  • Strong, proven experience in a QHSE role, ideally within a fast-paced, complex environment
  • Experience in an environment that operates MHE
  • Exposure to accident investigation, including full analysis and reporting
  • Proven ability to lead change, manage policies and deliver training
  • The ability and confidence to influence senior stakeholders on all aspects of health and safety
