Shunter

We are looking for a full-time, permanent Shunter to join us at our Heineken site in Tadcaster.

 

This role provides ASH cover, so while your shift pattern may rotate between days and nights, it will follow a consistent 4 on, 4 off schedule. Day shifts run from 05:30 to 17:30, and night shifts from 17:30 to 05:30.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

 

  • Liaising with transport manager, yard clerk and supervisors to ensure smooth and timely loading of trailers
  • Safely manoeuvre HGVs and trailers around the yard and between loading bays
  • Completing daily yard audits and temperature checks on vehicles, ensuring the safe movement of large vehicles and trailers around the site
  • Ensuring that all Health and Safety processes are followed and always observed

 

What you need to succeed at GXO:

 

  • HGV C+E driving license
  • Previous experience in a similar role (yard shunter, HGV driver, etc.)
  • Valid driver CPC and digital tachograph cards
  • No more than six penalty points on your licence (no TT, IN, DD, DR or DG endorsements)
  • Strong awareness of safety and yard protocols
