Are you looking for a new role as HR Business Unit Manager to lead the end-to-end HR function for a business unit within a dynamic, matrixed organization? As an HR Business Unit Manager, you will partner closely with business leadership to drive organizational performance through effective people strategies, ensuring alignment with both corporate HR policies and local business needs. The role requires someone who thrives amid rapid change, balancing strategic partnership with hands-on delivery. Success depends on your ability to connect complex business and people challenges, anticipate future needs, translate strategic objectives into actionable HR solutions, and influence across multiple stakeholders to ensure both immediate operational excellence and long-term organizational impact.
Within this role you will serve as the primary HR leader and business partner for the unit’s management team, supporting strategy execution and operational delivery. In this role you will report to the Head of HR Business Team BeNe & Nordics. In total there are 11 HR professionals working in the Business Unit South-West.
What are your Key Responsibilities?
- You serve as the primary HR leader and business partner for the unit’s management team, supporting strategy execution and operational delivery.
- You act as a trusted advisor to multiple business leaders, navigating a matrixed reporting structure to align HR strategy with both global, regional and local business priorities.
- You translate business objectives into actionable people strategies that have measurable impact, and you lead and drive initiatives in employee engagement, performance management, succession planning, and talent development.
- You analyze workforce data, trends, and metrics to inform decision-making and support financial and operational goals.
- You champion rapid problem-solving, pragmatic decision-making, and continuous improvement in all HR processes.
- Foster a culture of inclusion, safety, and well-being aligned with company values.
What do you need to be successful in this role?
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- 10+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a senior business partnering or HR leadership role.
- Demonstrated experience supporting large-scale business units or divisions, ideally with P&L exposure.
- Strong knowledge of employment law, labor relations, and HR best practices.
- Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive strategic initiatives.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent presentation and reporting skills
- Fluency in English and Dutch; additional regional languages an advantage.
