What you do on a typical day as a Site Manager

As a Site Manager you will have full responsibility at the site. You will oversee and direct all departments within the facility and be held accountable for overall performance. Your key focus areas will include ensure great cooperation between agencies and GXO, being one team, quality management and cost control, ensuring that operations align with company objective, profitability targets, business growth and sustained customer relationships. You fit in with our open-door culture and understand the added value of spending time in the warehouse to connect, energize and understand the needs of our colleagues.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Defining the strategic business goals and driving the implementation of innovations to effectively meet and exceed customer expectations.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customer partnership, ensuring strong and strategic relationships.

  • Drive, maintain and develop engagement initiatives

  • Provide expertise in open and closed book operations.

  • Assume full P&L responsibility, driving financial performance and cost efficiency.

  • Lead a team of around 130 employees

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, operational excellence, and compliance.

  • Implement and sustain LEAN warehousing systems.

  • Develop and execute strategic operational initiatives to meet or exceed company and customer expectations.

  • Ensure daily distribution targets are met and develop corrective action plans when needed.

  • Supervise and develop employees in alignment with organizational policies and legal requirements.

  • Drive quality, cost-efficiency, and responsiveness to exceed customer metrics.

  • Organize MBR’s, QBRs and Internal business reviews while identifying growth opportunities.

  • Oversee legal compliance, and transportation solutions.

  • Promote and enforce a safe and healthy work environment.

  • Ensure policy compliance and effective communication across all levels.

  • Manage quality systems and continuous process improvement initiatives.

  • Oversee invoice drafting and account receivables follow-up.

  • Review and approve operational expenses, ensuring budget and profit goals are achieved.

 

What you need to succeed at GXO

  • Bachelor’s degree, e.g. in logistics, engineering, operations management, supply chain management or business administration.

  • Relevant experience in Site Management in 3PL environments, managing large projects with multiple stakeholders.

  • Open and closed book expertise.

  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) in English.

  • Ability to work in a diverse and international organization.
