Warehouse Manager II

Date: 22 Oct 2026

Location: Venray, NL, 5804 AP

Company: GXO Logistics

Why this role matters

Are you an experienced operations leader who can combine day-to-day performance with a broader tactical view? At our site in Venray, you will lead a large and stable warehouse operation for a customer in the fashion industry. You will translate customer expectations and operational data into clear priorities, coach your Team Leaders and create the structure needed to improve performance sustainably.

You will have direct responsibility for a team of Team Leaders and indirect responsibility for approximately 200 to 300 employees across inbound and outbound operations. Around 80% of the workforce consists of temporary employees, making accurate forecasting, workforce planning and close coordination with your leadership team essential. The operation has three shifts, supported by four Team Leaders in total, including one Team Leader in the day shift.

This is a full-time, site-based role in a regular Monday-to-Friday day shift. The wider operation also runs on Sundays, so flexibility to provide occasional support outside regular working days may be required. You will report to the Operations Manager and work closely with the customer and internal stakeholders.

What's in it for you

  • A senior operational leadership role with visible impact on a large fashion logistics operation.
  • The opportunity to shape continuous improvement, coaching and workforce planning within a stable operation.
  • Daily collaboration with an engaged customer and a broad group of internal stakeholders.
  • Access to GXO University and opportunities for personal and professional development.
  • A dynamic and international workplace where initiative, ownership and practical improvement are valued.
  • A competitive salary and benefits package.

How you'll make an impact

  • Lead, coach and develop Team Leaders, enabling them to take ownership of daily operations and employee performance.
  • Oversee inbound and outbound performance and ensure productivity, quality and customer KPIs are consistently achieved.
  • Use operational dashboards and data to understand performance drivers, identify risks and translate insights into clear actions.
  • Forecast workload and staffing needs for the coming weeks and months, and coordinate workforce plans with Team Leaders and relevant support functions.
  • Build and maintain a strong working relationship with the customer by listening carefully, following through on commitments and communicating transparently.
  • Drive continuous improvement across the operation, with particular attention to Lean principles, 5S, Kaizen and practical improvements on the warehouse floor.
  • Move beyond day-to-day problem solving by setting tactical priorities and creating a clear structure for sustainable performance improvement.
  • Manage employee relations and behavioral issues consistently and support Team Leaders in addressing performance concerns.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and ensure compliance with health, safety, quality and legal requirements.
  • Work closely with the Operations Manager and internal stakeholders to resolve operational issues, allocate resources and support business continuity.
  • Ensure operational documentation and reporting are accurate, current and consistently followed.

What you'll bring to GXO

  • Proven experience leading a sizeable warehouse, distribution or logistics operation through a team of frontline leaders.
  • The maturity and tactical perspective to coordinate Team Leaders rather than personally manage every day-to-day activity.
  • Strong knowledge of productivity management, workforce planning, forecasting and operational KPI management.
  • Demonstrable experience with continuous improvement; knowledge of Lean, 5S or Kaizen is a strong advantage.
  • A decisive and hands-on leadership style, combined with the ability to coach, empower and hold people accountable.
  • Strong customer orientation and the ability to build trust by listening, communicating clearly and delivering on commitments.
  • The confidence to lead in a large, diverse operation and make timely decisions when priorities change.
  • A structured, observant and self-critical approach, with the ability to turn concrete examples and analysis into practical improvement.
  • Experience working with Warehouse Management Systems and operational reporting tools.
  • Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal. Additional languages are an advantage.
  • A relevant diploma can be beneficial, but practical leadership experience, operational maturity and demonstrated results are more important.
