Here at GXO Warrington we are looking for a National Planning Operations Manager to join our busy national planning centre, where you’ll ensure that the team deliver high quality and consistent schedules to ensure that we deliver the right stock, to the right store, at the right time.

 

This is a full time, permanent position, you will be working on an any 5 from 7 shift pattern. Typically, this is Monday to Friday 8.30am – 4.30pm. However, the teams’ shifts can vary from 7.00am – 6.00pm therefore flexibility is essential, this is logistics after all!

What you’ll do on a typical day:

 

  • Be the subject matter expert in our planning systems and operating procedures to ensure that our plans are accurate and efficient
  • Shape and lead the network resourcing plans, managing fleet in accordance with volumes
  • Coordinate and effectively forward plan for all seasonal, trade driving and promotional events to ensure that our transport plans reflect business operations during these times
  • Use your expertise and knowledge to identify opportunities to improve the transport planning operation, engaging and supporting the team to deliver these improvements

 

What you need to succeed at GXO:

 

  • Previous experience leading planning teams and transport operations, both operationally and strategically, with the ability to effectively lead, develop and manage a team
  • Comfortable to work on your own initiative in a complex and dynamic operation that continually changes
  • Demonstrate understanding of continuous improvement theories and methodology and have experience of delivering continuous improvement initiatives
  • Experience working with transport planning systems (Paragon or Microlise as a minimum) and a knowledge of driver’s hours and the working time directive
