Senior Yard Operative

Here at GXO Logistics we are currently looking for a Senior Yard Operative to join our energetic team at City Plumbing Supplies based in Warrington, on a full time, permanent contract.  You will be working any 5 days out of 7, covering the hours of 22:00 - 06:00.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

 

  • Controlling workload by appropriately assigning skillsets to areas to maximise efficiencies and ensuring sufficient equipment is available daily to the operational teams

  • Establishing effective communication between team and other departments

  • Ensuring the accurate recording of all branch pallet returns and waste transfer notices

  • Completing safety conversations, MHE observations and raising H&S issues to relevant teams/managers

  • Promoting clean as you go policy

 

What you need to succeed at GXO:

 

  • Ability to follow safe working instructions

  • Flexibility to adapt to changing instructions to support the operation, to meet the requirements of the shift and deadlines

  • Good communication skills

  • Previous experience within a recycling/yard departments preferable, but not essential
