Here at GXO, we’re proud to be recruiting for a Transport Planner Apprentice at our Warrington site (WA3 6WA). Over two years, you will learn vital skills in transport planning and operations, including route planning, customer delivery support, and managing daily transport activity. Alongside on-the-job training, you will also study a fully funded L3 Transport Supervisor Apprenticeship which will give you the skills and knowledge to succeed in your role.

 

Pay, benefits and more:

 

We’re looking to offer a salary of £25,000 per annum. Your working week will be Monday to Friday. In addition, we offer 25 days holiday pay (plus bank holidays), as well as the option to buy additional days. What you’ll do on a typical day:

 

  • Work as part of a busy transport planning team, supporting the planning and scheduling of daily deliveries, trunking, and collections
  • Use transport systems to allocate drivers and vehicles, ensuring efficient and compliant plans
  • Communicate with site teams, drivers, hauliers and customers to ensure on-time delivery and smooth handovers
  • Monitor transport performance and highlight any delays, risks, or operational issues
  • Maintain accurate data across transport and customer systems, ensuring plans and reports are kept up to date

 

What you need to succeed at GXO:

 

  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written, and the ability to build strong working relationships with colleagues and customers.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and Office Programmes.
  • A keen eye for detail, especially when producing reports and handling data accuracy.
  • An interest in transport, logistics, or operational planning, and a willingness to learn industry regulations
  • Ability to stay calm and organised in a fast-paced, time-critical environment
  • A strong work ethic with the capability to work on your own initiative and prioritise own workload
  • Ambition and a genuine desire to learn and grow – this is a career and not just a job, and there will be a variety of development opportunities on offer during the scheme and beyond
