Inventory Controller

We’re looking for an enthusiastic Inventory Controller to join our team in Wellingborough, supporting the fast-paced and innovative Huel contract. In this key role, you’ll be responsible for maintaining stock integrity, investigating discrepancies and ensuring smooth inventory operations.

 

This is a full-time, permanent position, working Monday to Friday, 14:00 to 22:00. While these are your core hours, some flexibility is expected — after all, this is logistics!

What you will do on a typical day:

 

  • Conduct daily inventory cycle counts to ensure stock accuracy
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies by reviewing transaction history in the Warehouse Management System (WMS)
  • Coordinate and prepare product reworks as needed
  • Communicate directly with the customer to resolve queries and provide updates
  • Maintain accurate documentation using the WMS and other relevant systems

 

What you need to succeed at GXO:

 

  • Strong communication skills – both written and verbal
  • Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach
  • Previous experience working with WMS is highly desirable
  • Willingness to operate Material Handling Equipment (MHE) – including Reach Truck and Scissor Lift (training provided)
  • A Scissor Lift Licence would be advantageous, but on-site training will be provided if needed
