QHSE Manager

Here at GXO we’re currently looking for a QHSE Manager to join our new site in Wellingborough. You’ll take responsibility for all thing’s health and safety at site and help push our road to zero campaign. We’re looking for someone to champion and promote occupational health, safety and environmental awareness throughout the site whilst always leading from the front. You’ll play an integral part of our team – are you ready for the challenge?
This is a full‑time, permanent position. The hours of work will be 37.5 per week, working on an any 5 from 7 shift pattern. Typically, this will be Monday to Friday, however we do require a level of flexibility as you will need to engage with various teams within the operation – this is logistics after all!

You’ll be paid a salary of £40,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on experience. What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Lead and advise site management on all QHSE matters, ensuring full compliance with statutory, company and customer requirements
- Proactively manage accident investigation, reporting and hazard elimination, driving preventative actions and continuous improvement
- Develop, implement and monitor safe systems of work, risk assessments and site audits across all warehouse operations
- Act as the main point of contact for external authorities, chair site H&S committee meetings and deliver clear reporting and performance insight
- Champion a positive safety culture across the site, including fire safety management, H&S training, inductions and Road to Zero compliance
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- Experience working in a Health & Safety leadership role within a warehouse and transport environment, with strong operational exposure
- NEBOSH general certificate is essential, with a strong working knowledge of H&S legislation and fire legislation
- Confident influencing stakeholders at all levels, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organisational and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to work independently and prioritise effectively
- A professional, people‑focused approach with the integrity to challenge, improve and lead by example
