Do you know JDA Dispatcher/Red Prairie/Blue Yonder/DLx like the back of your hand? Do you have a solid background in managing the IT and systems functions within a warehouse environment? Is your WMS knowledge second-to-none? Have you got a very good understanding of operational warehousing?

 

Here at GXO, we are currently looking for a Senior Systems Development Manager to join our team on the Virgin Media contract in Wellingborough. Day to day, you’ll be responsible for systems incident management, overseeing escalations and assisting with the identification and delivery of service support improvement opportunities and programmes.

 

This is a full-time, permanent position predominantly working Monday – Friday, 9 till 5 with some flexibility needed, this is logistics after all.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

 

  • Liaison with key customer contacts to understand and support system enhancements and improve service and opportunities and identify system enhancements to provide customer satisfaction
  • Coordinate systems upgrades and implementations as required, including co-ordinating testing in conjunction with the Systems Team
  • Ensure maximum system availability through control and improvement of system activities
  • Identify system enhancements to provide customer satisfaction
  • Supporting applications that are managed centrally (this will involve asking relevant questions of the operation and our customers to determine the way the system should be configured. Plan and carry out the data set up and then test to make sure it works correctly
  • Testing newly developed IT Business Systems to ensure readiness for implementation, recording results of tests in a logical manner and providing clear feedback on any software faults
  • Identifying, developing and training site super-users on applications

 

What you need to succeed at GXO:

 

  • High proficiency of JDA Dispatcher/Red Prairie/Blue Yonder/DLx to super-user level as a minimum
  • Proficient in SQL, PL/SQL or Jasper report writing
  • A strong track record in IT delivery with a broad understanding of everything that goes into running a warehouse IT function
  • SOC 1 auditing experience
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
