FTZ Analyst - 1st Shift

   The Trade Compliance Analyst is responsible for the admission, inventory control and reconciliation, withdrawal, and payment of duties for all products admitted into and withdrawn from the Foreign Trade Zone.  This position must adhere to applicable CBP regulations or associated government agencies to ensure each shipment complies with relevant legal requirements. The analyst will work closely with the Manager of Trade Compliance to ensure proper reporting, auditing, and analysis is completed timely.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Prepare and submit all required weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual documentation and forms to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) in a timely manner maintaining all record keeping requirements for management of the FTZ.
  • Prepare and submit all daily FTZ admissions (e214) and/or pre-receipt manifest files
  • Initiate customs entries, export transactions, and zone-to-zone transfers for merchandise entering and leaving the zone. May interact with CBP if necessary.
  • Partner with the FTZ Manager to ensure the FTZ Procedures Manual is current and accurately reflects the operations and practices and are in compliance with government regulations. This includes the FTZ record keeping retention program for CBP review.
  • Routinely update and report to the FTZ Manager concerning activities related to the Foreign Trade Zone including data analysis and problem solving
  • Prepare the FTZ Board Annual Report summarizing all zone activity and file with zone Grantee.
  • Validate FTZ data against actual documentation as needed to ensure accuracy of integration and information.                                                        
  • Conduct audits of transactions and processes and make recommendations on improvements.                                                                                                                                                                                                         
  • Assist in compliance-related training initiatives including training material development and delivering presentations to various departments and business units
  • Assist business units with customs-related issues and questions
  • Work on special projects as required

 

What you need to succeed at GXO:

 

At a minimum, you’ll need:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 3 years of experience as an inventory control analyst
  • Experience with US 19 CFR Regulations
  • Experience with troubleshooting inventory accuracy and trend analysis
  • Experience with warehouse management system data

 

It’d be great if you also have:

  • BA/BS in International Studies or related field
  • US Customs Broker license or equivalent certification
  • Experience extracting data from various sources to audit accuracy
  • Experience analyzing and troubleshooting inventory data
