Shift Manager

We’re recruiting for a Shift Manager for our key customer, in Sherburn In Elmet (Regular paid travel to Doncaster site). Our Shift Managers are expected to manage the shift in the most efficient manner to achieve SLA’s and targets set by customer and Company by effectively managing operational activities
This is a full-time, permanent role, working hours of Monday – Friday 8am to 4pm

What you’ll do on a typical day:
- To understand the short to medium term plans of the customer and the operational requirements. Review operational volumes and forecasts to calculate labour requirements.
- Maintain of all warehouses related operational processes and procedures to ensure the effective delivery of set targets and KPI’s by monitoring the operational team performance through their middle management
- Take proactive steps and preventive action to reduce risks of service failures or re-occurring issues.
- Accountability for the individual/team performance and productivity through measures such as barometers ensuring that high levels of productivity are maintained and where necessary redeploying colleagues quickly and efficiently.
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- Experience in motivating and leading teams within a fast-moving logistics environment
- Strong knowledge and practice of health and safety principles
- Team Performance, site KPI’s and ability to maintain site standards
- Excellent knowledge of excel, as well as WMS systems
- Driving license & access to own vehicle
