Here at GXO, we're recruiting for Shift Managers to join our M&S operation in Sherburn-in-Elmet. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a newly created twilight shift, taking responsibility for warehouse performance, colleague engagement and customer delivery within a busy and growing operation.

This is a full-time, permanent role, working a 4 on, 4 off shift pattern (13:00 – 01:00).

What you’ll do on a typical day:

 

  • Lead and manage warehouse operations across your shift, ensuring productivity, service, quality and safety targets are consistently achieved while delivering excellent customer outcomes
  • Develop, coach and support Team Leaders and operational colleagues, building a high-performing culture focused on accountability, engagement and continuous improvement
  • Monitor operational KPIs, service levels and resource utilisation, implementing corrective actions and driving efficiencies to maximise operational performance
  • Act as a key customer liaison, ensuring service requirements are met, operational issues are resolved promptly, and strong working relationships are maintained
  • Drive a proactive health & safety culture, ensuring compliance with company standards, conducting investigations where required and promoting safe working practices across the operation

 

What you need to succeed at GXO:

 

  • Proven leadership experience within a warehouse, logistics or supply chain environment, with responsibility for managing people and operational performance
  • Strong understanding of KPI management, continuous improvement methodologies and operational planning within a fast-paced environment
  • Experience leading and developing teams, including performance management, coaching and employee engagement activities
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels and build effective customer relationships
  • Experience working with warehouse management systems and operational reporting, alongside strong commercial awareness and a results-driven approach
