Accounts Coordinator

We’re hiring an Accounts Coordinator in Wigan for a 6-month contract. Reporting to the Assistant Finance Manager, you’ll help produce accurate management accounts by analysing labour costs and productivity. You’ll provide insight to improve reporting and challenge operations, so attention to detail, strong communication, and a proactive approach are essential.
The role being offered is on a full-time, Monday to Friday and there is a requirement to be onsite at least 3 days per week.

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £30,000 per annum, and 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays). What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Produce weekly flash accounts, manage period-end processes including accruals and prepayments, and deliver accurate P&L analysis with insights on variances and trends
- Perform reconciliations with supporting evidence for provisions, deferrals, and payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Assist with annual budgets and forecasts driving process improvements to add value
- Communicate risks and opportunities effectively, produce contractual reporting packs, and resolve or escalate customer financial queries promptly
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- Experience in Transport/Logistics and part-qualified accountant status (AAT, CIMA, ACA, ACCA) is advantageous but not essential
- Proactive, driven, and able to challenge teams to improve performance while working under pressure
- Strong communication skills, flexibility, and ability to build relationships at all levels
- Excellent IT skills with the ability to leverage systems for operational benefit
