Are you experienced in the transport industry with a background in scheduling, planning, dispatch or as a driver? If so, we want to hear from you! We're currently looking to recruit a Transport Supervisor for our Zellik site.

 

  • Previous leadership experience in transport or logistics is highly preferred.
  • Fluent in Dutch and French (both written and spoken), with English being a strong advantage.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work the following shift schedule:
  • Monday – Thursday: 12:00 – 20:00
  • Friday: 20:00 – 04:00

 

What you do on a typical day

  • As a Transport Supervisor you are responsible for the daily planning of journeys based on incoming orders (internal and external) and possibly additional planning of transport of empties
  • Evaluate trip deviations and complaints and take corrective action
  • Follow-up and adjustment of the route planning during the day
  • Close involvement in projects in the field of transport automation and co-responsible for recruitment within the Transport department
  • Direct management of the team leaders/planners and indirect management of drivers: ensuring that they know and take their responsibilities and on top of that also stimulate their independence and involvement.
  • Responsible for the continuous addition and updating of the knowledge of the drivers.
  • Liasing with drivers, e.g. when something goes wrong or to know arrival time
  • Preparation of reports
  • Leading a team of 10 planners/dispatchers and 60 indirect drivers
  • Deployment of vehicles drivers according to daily needs
  • New transport requests
  • Pricing transport Recruitment Annual leave for drivers

 

What you need to succeed at GXO  

  • Bachelors degree within a transport or logistics field, or mimimum of 3 years within transport function  
  • Ability to lead a team
  • Fluent in Dutch and French written/verbal, with a level basic level of English
  • Experience in WMS and TMS
  • Ability to learn transport legislation and knowledge (CMR/tacho, driving and rest times/dimensions and mass)
  • Strong multi tasking skills and ability to be proactive as well as reactive in a busy, everchanging environment
