Inventory Control Manager

Are you the kind of person who spots a stock discrepancy faster than most people spot a typo? Do you enjoy bringing structure, accuracy and calm to busy warehouse environments?

We’re looking for an Inventory Control Manager to join our team at Panattoni Park, Avonmouth (BS10 7SJ) in a full‑time, permanent role, working Monday to Friday, 08:00–16:00, ideal if you like leading from the front without living on rotating shifts.

This is a role for someone who genuinely cares about doing things properly. You’ll take ownership of stock accuracy across a large, fast‑moving site, balancing data, people and processes to make sure everything adds up and you’ll be part of a collaborative leadership team where your expertise is valued, your voice is heard, and your work makes a visible difference every single day.

Pay, benefits and more:

You’ll receive a salary of up to £61,800, plus 33 days annual leave, a company‑sponsored pension scheme, life assurance, 24/7 access to an online GP and a comprehensive employee assistance programme. You’ll also benefit from our MyBenefits platform, giving you access to high‑street discounts, cashback opportunities, a cycle‑to‑work scheme and more.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Lead and develop the stock control function, keeping stock visibility accurate and reliable across the site
  • Own inventory processes including put‑away strategy, consolidation, bin cycling, PI counts and cycle counting
  • Maintain data integrity across multiple systems, investigating and resolving discrepancies quickly
  • Produce clear, meaningful stock reports for internal teams and customer reviews
  • Drive continuous improvement across inventory processes, capacity planning and seasonal change activity

What you need to succeed at GXO:

  • Proven experience managing inventory or stock control in a warehouse or e‑fulfilment environment
  • Strong people‑leadership skills, with experience managing managers, supervisors or clerical teams
  • Confidence working across WMS and inventory systems, with a sharp eye for detail
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to build trust with operational teams and stakeholders
  • A calm, solution‑driven mindset
