Here at GXO, we’re looking for a Duty Section Manager to join our high-performing ASOS Barnsley operation. This is no ordinary site! This is one of the largest single-site fulfilment centres in the UK, a massive 1.1 million square foot facility that ships to over 150 countries worldwide. In this role, you’ll take ownership of a key operational area, leading, motivating, and developing your team to deliver against demanding KPIs while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and service. You’ll play a vital role in driving performance, building capability, and embedding a culture of continuous improvement across a truly dynamic and fast-paced environment.
This is a full-time, permanent position where you will be working on any 5 out of 7 rotation Tuesday to Saturday 14:45 – 23:15

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £38,251.20 per annum and 264 hours annual leave (inclusive of bank holidays). What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Lead and develop First Line Managers and operational teams to achieve performance and service targets
- Drive a strong Health & Safety culture, ensuring full compliance and proactive risk management
- Manage daily operations including labour planning, workflow prioritisation, and performance monitoring
- Analyse performance data, identify root causes of issues, and implement continuous improvement solutions
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders and create a positive, high-engagement team environment
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- Proven leadership experience within a fast-paced logistics or warehouse environment
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a strong bias for action
- Strong people management skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop teams
- Experience working with KPIs, operational reporting, and performance management tools
- Good system knowledge (WMS preferred) and confidence using data to drive decisions
