Exciting things are happening at GXO! We're delighted to announce the expansion of our Fashion & Apparel operations with the launch of our newest distribution site in Burnley (BB10).

Following significant investment, this site is being brought back to life and will become a key part of our growing UK network. We're now looking for Engineering Assistants to join our Engineering team and support the safe, efficient and reliable operation of our automated equipment and warehouse infrastructure.

Working closely with Engineers, Operations and Control Room teams, you'll play an important part in maintaining equipment performance, responding to operational issues and helping to minimise downtime. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with a mechanical or technical mindset who enjoys being hands-on, learning new skills and working in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.

These are full time, permanent positions working on a 4 on and 4 off 12 hours shift pattern with rotating days and nights

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £30,000.00 per annum, and 23.5 days annual leave (inclusive of bank holidays). What you’ll do on a typical day:

• Support the Engineering team with the day-to-day operation and maintenance of automated warehouse equipment
• Respond to equipment issues and assist with fault identification and resolution
• Carry out routine inspections, checks and preventative maintenance activities

• Promote safe working practices and maintain high standards of Health & Safety at all times

What you need to succeed at GXO:

• NVQ L1 working towards L2 mechanical engineering is desirable
• Previous experience in a similar environment
• A practical, hands-on approach with strong problem-solving skills
• The ability to work calmly and effectively within a fast-paced operational environment
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards
