Project Portfolio Manager

Here at GXO, we’re seeking a Project Portfolio Manager to join our ASOS contracts in Barnsley and Doncaster. You will own the end-to-end oversight of the organisations project portfolio, ensuring strategic priorities are translated into well-governed, commercially sound and successfully delivered projects. From intake and prioritisation through to delivery and benefit realisation, you’ll provide clear structure, transparency and control across the portfolio.
This is a full-time, permanent position. You will work Monday to Friday, 08:30 till 17:00. You will primarily be based at our Barnsley site, with travel to Doncaster when required.

What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Own and govern the end-to-end project portfolio, ensuring clear prioritisation, alignment to strategy and effective, intake, assessment and approval of initiatives
- Embed consistent portfolio governance and delivery standards, providing oversight of scope, timelines, risks, dependencies and escalations across all projects
- Lead commercial and capacity forecasting, delivering accurate, forward-looking views of cost, value and resource demand in partnership with Finance
- Monitor and improve portfolio performance, identifying variances early, driving corrective actions and ensuring benefits realisation
- Act as the central point of visibility for senior stakeholders, strengthening accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement through clear reporting, tools and ways of working
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- Proven experience managing a multi-project portfolio in a complex or fast-moving environment
- Strong knowledge of project delivery methodologies (Agile, Waterfall and hybrid) and governance frameworks
- Demonstrated ability to forecast, analyse and communicate commercial and financial performance
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the confidence to influence at senior leadership level
- Strong prioritisation, risk management and problem-solving capability, with comfort operating in ambiguity
