What do you do as a Customs Specialist?
As a Customs Specialist your mission is to supervise customs activities carried out by operators related to the supply chain (forwarders, customs agents, suppliers, factories, etc.) comply with the standards / deadlines required by the department and not affecting the regular development of customs clearance. You are representing the organization towards Dutch customs & NVWA and in your role are the first point of contact for issues pertaining receipts of goods into the EU.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise customs activities carried out by operators related to the supply chain (forwarders, customs agents, suppliers, factories, etc.) comply with the standards / deadlines required by the department and not affecting the regular development of customs clearance
- Accomplish preparatory procedures for customs declarations (tariff classification, recording and updating logistic and customs data, commercial and customs documentation, applications processing: quality control industrial products (SOIVRE)
- Manage pre-clearance for customs controls
- Control and implement effective management of the customs Distribution Hub, preparing reports and making proposals that improve optimization
- Reception, validation and Creation of customs documents (ATRE,EXA, T1, Phyto etc) and report incidents (delays)
- You will report to the Teamleader Business Support on site.
Job requirements:
- You are a die-hard in customs and have 5+ years of experience with customs (musthave) – Important, because you will be taking the lead on site as a customs specialist!
- Customs is your second nature.
- You master the Dutch and English language at a professional level (mandatory).
- You see yourself as a pro-active, flexible, motivated and stress resistant person with an eye for detail.
- You are a pro in MS Office, Excel – No surprises for you there.
