People Assistant

Here at GXO Logistics, we’re looking for a People Assistant to join our B&Q site in Branston. You’ll be the backbone of the People function, providing essential HR administration support, maintaining accurate records and helping to ensure the smooth running of all people processes across the site.

 

This is a part-time, permanent position where you’ll be working 22.5 hours per week, Wednesday to Friday.

You’ll be paid a salary of £15,638 per annum. What you’ll do on a typical day:

 

  • General HR administration including issuing offer letters and contracts, collating new starter information and processing leavers
  • Supporting managers in the administration of disciplinary and grievance meetings, including note taking and issuing invite letters
  • Assist with absence recording and monitoring attendance, including long term sickness, welfare meetings and Occupational Health as required
  • Responsible for the maintenance of confidential HR records, liaising with central HR and Payroll teams
  • Assisting the People Advisor with the provision of generalist HR advice to line managers
  • Assisting in employee engagement activities and project work
  • Supporting the Payroll Administration with pay queries from start to resolution

 

What you need to succeed at GXO:

 

  • Previous HR administration experience and/or working towards a CIPD qualification, with a good understanding of current employment legislation
  • Exceptional organisational and administrative skills, proficient in MS Office including Word, Excel, and Power point packages
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage conflicting deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships at all levels
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism
