Control Room Manager

Here at GXO, we're recruiting for a Control Room Manager to join our Mountain Warehouse operation in Peterborough, from 08:00 to 16:30. This is a unique opportunity to play a leading role in an exciting automation transformation, supporting the journey from a partially automated operation to a fully integrated, highly automated distribution centre.
Working at the heart of the operation, you'll lead the Control Room function, using real-time data, systems insight and operational expertise to optimise performance, drive decision-making and ensure seamless collaboration between operations, engineering and technology teams.

What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Lead the Control Room function, making real-time operational decisions to optimise workflow, maximise system performance and ensure service levels are consistently achieved
- Act as the central point of coordination between operations, engineering and automation teams, managing escalations and ensuring effective resolution of operational challenges
- Analyse operational and automation data to identify trends, risks and opportunities, translating insight into actions that drive performance improvements
- Support the ongoing automation journey by embedding new technologies, refining processes and developing operational strategies that maximise automation capability
- Build and develop a high-performing Control Room team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, systems thinking and data-led decision-making
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- Proven operational leadership experience within a fast-paced logistics, warehousing, manufacturing or automated environment
- Experience working with automation, advanced systems or technology-driven operations, with the ability to understand system behaviour and operational impact
- Strong analytical capability, with experience using data to drive decisions, improve performance and solve complex operational challenges
- Demonstrable experience leading teams through change, transformation or continuous improvement initiatives
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence, collaborate and build strong relationships across multiple functions
