Finance Assistant

Here at GXO, we're recruiting for a Finance Assistant to join our IKEA operation in Dartford on a fixed-term contract until end of May 2027. Working closely with the Finance Analyst, you'll play a key role in supporting management accounting activities, financial reporting and maintaining robust financial controls across the contract.
This is a full-time position, working Monday to Friday, from 09:00 to 17:00 offering an excellent opportunity for someone looking to further develop their finance experience within a dynamic operational environment.

What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Support the production of weekly profit and loss reporting, providing accurate financial information and insight to support operational and commercial decision-making
- Prepare and post journals, including inter-departmental recharges and financial adjustments, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded
- Raise and process customer invoices while maintaining strong financial controls and ensuring compliance with agreed processes
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts, investigating discrepancies and resolving issues to maintain financial accuracy and integrity
- Create and maintain spreadsheets, reports and financial data models while supporting month-end activities and ad hoc projects across the finance function
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- Previous experience within a finance, accounting or financial administration role, with a solid understanding of financial processes and controls
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to work accurately under pressure and meet deadlines
- Excellent Microsoft Excel and spreadsheet skills, with confidence working with financial data and reporting tools
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships across departments
- Ideally AAT qualified, studying towards ACA, ACCA or CIMA, or qualified through relevant experience
