Lead Warehouse Operative

Here at GXO we are recruiting for a Lead Warehouse Operative to join our Heineken operation in Derby (DE21 7HW). In this role, you will support the safe and efficient running of warehouse operations, leading colleagues to achieve high standards of performance, productivity, and health & safety while delivering key operational KPIs.

This is a full-time, permanent position, working any 5 days out of 7.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

• Carry out incident / accident investigations and complete relevant administration in line with Company procedures
• To provide KPI/Management Information relating to operational activities 
• Challenge current practices through the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiencies and effectively manage costs 
• Unloading deliveries, checking goods against delivery notes, and reporting discrepancies
• Using inventory software to track and manage stock levels 

What you need to succeed at GXO:

• Proven experience in a warehouse or logistics environment, ideally within a fast‑paced operation
• The confidence and capability to step up and support Team Leader responsibilities when required
• A methodical, organised, and safety‑focused approach to work
• Strong communication skills and the ability to lead, support, and motivate a team
• The ability to manage disciplinary, absence and grievance meeting
