Transport Planner

Here at GXO, we are recruiting for a Transport Planner to join our Drinks national network Planning Team in Derby. The purpose of the role is to manage the planning / routing of the 82 vehicles across 6 sites ensuring that the network is being fully utilised whilst meeting both the customer requirements within budgetary constraints. You’ll be working in a fast-paced environment with an enthusiastic team
This is a permanent, full time opportunity working Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 18:00 with 1 weekend rota in 5

What you’ll do on a typical day:
· Plan multi-drop routes for our fleet of rigid vehicles delivering beers, wines and spirits to various different client sites
· Working with high profile clients to enable an efficient and effective operation
· Conduct remedial planning to effectively manage live changes to the plan
· Ensure that all related administrative work is carried out accurately and to a high standard
· Maximise efficiencies through effective management of available resources
· The ability to communicate effectively at all levels and make confident business decisions
· Problem solving and a customer service focus
· Working with subcontractors and used to working under pressure and to tight deadlines
What you need to succeed at GXO:
· Transport planning experience in a fast-paced environment, transport, events, scheduling
· Project based experience and a continuous improvement mind-set
· Good geographical knowledge of UK
· Experience with planning software from ESP or GTS is an advantage
· Good interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships.
· Computer literate in Microsoft office packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
