Transport Shift Manager

As our Transport Shift Manager, you’ll be joining our fast paced operation in Bellshill (ML4 3NP) for our customer Wickes.
This is a full time, permanent opportunity working Monday to Friday 04:00 am to 12.00 pm (some flexibility required for earlier starts or later finishes adhoc).

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £34,000 per annum and 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays). Your benefits package includes a company sponsored pension scheme, life assurance and access to our benefits platform, including retail discounts!
What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Lead by example on safety, championing Health & Safety standards and creating a culture where safe working is everyone's priority
- Build and inspire a high-performing team, motivating drivers and colleagues to deliver exceptional results while maintaining strong morale and engagement
- Keep the operation moving, ensuring deliveries are on time, customer expectations are exceeded, and weekly transport plans are delivered successfully
- Manage driver performance and attendance, using telematics and operational data to drive productivity, efficiency and continuous improvement
- Own transport compliance, ensuring driver regulations, company procedures and audit requirements are met with confidence and accuracy
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- Proven experience leading teams in a transport environment, with the confidence to manage people, performance and day-to-day operations
- Strong knowledge of transport compliance and driver regulations, ensuring legal requirements are met and standards never slip
- Calm under pressure and skilled at problem-solving, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-moving, commercial operation
- A natural relationship-builder, capable of earning the trust and respect of drivers, colleagues and customers through professionalism, integrity and great communication
