Driver Shunter
Are you a Class 1 Shunter Driver looking for either a day or night role with the security of guaranteed full-time hours?
Here at GXO, we are looking for a Class 1 Shunters to join our team in Northfleet supporting our customer, Arbex. This is a permanent role, and you will be working 42 hours per week on a 4on,4off shift pattern.
Shifts available 06:00-18:00 and 18:00-06:00

What you’ll do on a typical day:
- To ensure the TUG unit is safe to operate and monitor H&S of the transport area, report any non-conformances including VOR trailers
- Effectively manage trailers on and off the bays, both at the RDC and over the mill in line with operational requirements.
- Support all external hauliers for collections / deliveries and any internal movements between site locations.
- Complete all transport area checks in an accurate and timely manner utilising systems and methods as supplied.
- Monitor the usage and allocation of stand trailers.
- Prepare trailers for loading including laying out of straps and pulling curtains.
- Carry out any other duties as required in line with the role.
What you need to succeed:
- You must hold a valid Class 1 licence with a minimum of 3 years experience
- Have a valid Driver Qualification Card (CPC)
- Less than 6 penalty points on licence (No DR, DG, DD, BA, CD, AC, LC or TT99 endorsements with a conviction date within the previous 5 years
- Shunter Experience preferred
- Must be able to complete manual handling tasks
- Good communication skills
