Warehouse Operations Manager

Here at GXO we have an exciting new opportunity for a Warehouse Operations Manager to join our team in Northfleet. You’ll play a vital role in supporting the senior leadership team in ensuring colleagues meet or exceed operational requirements for our customer. This will involve organising colleagues and supervising workload to meet Key Performance Indicators, within the agreed timeframe.
You’ll be working on a day shift from Monday – Friday, 08:30 – 16:30, on a full-time, permanent basis. However, flexibility on hours and days will be required. This is logistics, after all.

What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Be responsible for the management, delivery and implementation of the company’s operational policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with both corporate expectations and legislation
- Build effective working relationships with the customer & depot management to ensure that the site complies with current UK legislation and Group HSE policy/strategy in the effective day-to-day management of operations at site level
- Create a positive environment where colleagues want to achieve their best, through showing inspiring energy and enthusiasm
- Managing warehouse colleagues effectively achieving set KPI’s & SLAs with a view to controlling costs, whilst upholding GXO values
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- Previous managerial experience within a fast-paced logistics background, ideally in an unionised environment
- Exposure to a process driven environment e.g. automated, manufacturing in food, pharmaceutical, white goods and/or e-commerce would be advantageous
- The ability to identify ways to improve processes and systems, with an analytical and a logical approach to problem-solving
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the confidence to work on your own initiative as well as lead a team
