Position is based on site at GXO office in Greenwich CT with 2 remote days a week.

 

The Director, Consolidations and Reporting reports to the Senior Director, Controllership. The Director, Consolidations and Reporting will prepare the consolidated financial results of GXO on a monthly basis, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of preparing the financials and reporting internally, to the leadership team, analysis on the results and variances to prior periods.

 

Responsibility for coordination of the entire Controllership internal reporting deck for the consolidated results ensuring completion on time and fully prepared for report out to leaders.

 

Working with the regional teams to resolve any queries or issues and providing information to leadership on a timely basis.

 

Ensuring a smooth audit process, providing both internal and external auditors with the information required to close out any requests. Maintaining a strong SOX environment and ensuring all internal controls are adhered to and compliance is evidenced.

 

This is a high-visibility role and requires communication and collaboration within the Corporate Controllership team, internal and external audit, and collaboration with other finance functions both at Corporate and within regions.

 

What you’ll do on a typical day: 

  • Ensure accurate and timely compilation of accounting information, analyses and reporting in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and company policies and procedures.
  • Prepare analytic decks for global results, consolidating data from all regions, and drive improvements in the reporting package.
  • Provide guidance on technical accounting treatment under US GAAP in regard to complex transactions in the business, assisting the regional finance and commercial teams in exploring alternatives and concluding on the correct treatments.
  • Propose improvements to existing company policies and procedures, where appropriate, including compliance with technical accounting guidelines.
  • Support the company’s internal financial reporting process, with particular focus on statement of cash flows.
  • Manage team of two remote employees based in India who support with the monthly close process including journal entries and intercompany reconciliations.
  • Lead on initiatives in optimizing financial reporting systems (including Oracle, HFM and other financial systems) including project management of any change in systems
  • Support the external financial reporting process including Form 10-K and 10-Q with responsibility for preparing footnotes for specific areas, e.g. Pensions.
  • Complete and maintain process documentation to ensure Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance for areas of responsibility
  • Support the annual audit and quarterly review activities with external auditors.
  • Oversee the company’s internal financial reporting process, including preparation of consolidated monthly and quarterly financial statements, P&L, balance sheet and statement of cash flows.
  • Spearhead initiative to improve internal reporting metrics and detail of information provided.

 

What you need to succeed at GXO:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related
  • CPA, or equivalent qualification
  • 7+ years’ experience in Accounting or Finance
  • Global or multinational consolidations experience
  • Familiar with foreign currency translations for consolidations
  • Strong US GAAP Knowledge
  • SEC Reporting experience
  • HFM (Hyperion Financial Management) highly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to own end-to-end presentation development, translating complex data, into concise, executive-level narratives and comfortable taking ownership of the presentation deck and successfully pitching to executive leadership team
  • Occasional domestic or international travel to other business locations
