Yard Operative

Have you ever worked in the fast-paced logistics environment? Do you have experience in transport, but want new a challenge where you can further develop your skills and knowledge?

Here at GXO Logistics, we are currently looking for the full-time, permanent Yard Operatives to join our team in Haydock for our customer, one of the largest chain of supermarkets in the UK, Sainsbury’s.

You will be working on a rotating shift pattern of 4 on 4 off with the hours of 06:00 – 18:00 and 18:00 – 06:00.

What you will do on a typical day:

• Ensure the efficiency of trailers availability
• Provide instructions to the depot shunting team
• Manage vehicle movements within the yard
• Responsible for the correct placing of vehicles

What you need to succeed at GXO:

• Good understanding of transport operation
• Organisational and analytical skills
• Able to communicate effectively at all levels
• Computer literate including MS Office skills
