Operations Manager - Ironing Factory

Shape the future of logistics with GXO

Ready to take the lead in a dynamic logistics environment with full responsibility for your own site?

At GXO’s site in Lelystad, you’ll play a key role in leading a dedicated operation of approximately 50 permanent employees and 100+ flex employees. As an Operations Manager, you will have end-to-end responsibility for the site, combining operational leadership with responsibility for financial performance, people and continuous improvement.

This is an opportunity for an experienced Operations Manager who enjoys being close to the operation, taking ownership and having a direct impact on both the people and performance of the site.

Your role as Operations Manager

As Operations Manager, you are responsible for the overall performance of the site. Your responsibilities include:

  • Leading the daily operational execution, ensuring safe, compliant and efficient operations
  • Taking full responsibility for the site’s operational and financial performance, including budgets, costs and productivity
  • Driving performance through KPIs, dashboards and data insights, identifying root causes and implementing corrective and preventive actions
  • Championing LEAN, continuous improvement and process standardisation to continuously improve quality, productivity and efficiency
  • Leading, coaching and developing the team, including performance management, training and succession planning
  • Planning and allocating staff, workload and resources in close collaboration with support functions and the customer
  • Building and maintaining a strong relationship with the customer and acting as a key point of contact for the operation
  • Creating a safe, inclusive and engaging working environment, maintaining up-to-date procedures, documentation and compliance standards
  • Working closely with the wider GXO organisation and ensuring the site delivers against both operational and financial expectations

What we’re looking for

You bring strong operational experience and a leadership mindset. You ideally have:

  • 5+ years’ experience in a warehouse, logistics, supply chain or comparable operational environment
  • Proven experience leading and developing teams, preferably within an operational environment
  • Experience with operational and financial responsibility, including budgets, cost control and performance management
  • Strong communication skills in English; Dutch is a plus
  • A hands-on, resilient and results-driven approach, with the ability to perform under pressure without compromising standards
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills, with the ability to turn data into action
  • A continuous improvement mindset and a genuine motivation to grow — personally and professionally
  • The ability to combine day-to-day operational leadership with broader responsibility for the performance and development of the site

What GXO offers you

  • A key leadership role with full responsibility for your own GXO site in Lelystad
  • A salary of up to €80,000 gross per year, depending on experience, excluding bonus and other secondary benefits
  • Clear, visible career paths within a global organisation that actively invests in leadership development and internal progression
  • A people-first culture built on safety, teamwork and continuous improvement, where your input truly matters
  • The opportunity to lead a stable operation while continuing to improve and further develop the site
