Site Manager I

Working as our Site Manager

 

We are looking for an experience operations/site manager as a successor for our site in Lelystad. After approximately 6months of training in our state of the art, highly automated 340.000m2 DC you should be ready to manage the site and the customer relationship on your own.

 

In this position you will report to the current Site director and collaborate daily with the Operations Manager who is responsible for the efficient day-to-day operation of the site, with particular emphasis on managing supporting functions and implementing warehouse action plans. You will help establish and maintain procedures for meeting company and customer commitments. Promote and implement continual improvement. Train, motivate and lead within area of responsibility. Facilitate conflict resolution and enforce company policies/procedures. We are specifically looking for a candidate with the skills and ambition to develop within GXO and be ready to manage a site of their own.

 

This role has a technical and operational part. On one hand you will lead and drive the operation from the front, ensuring compliance, performance, and the delivery of a world-class service to our customer together with the Operations Manager. You will be liaising with agencies and Workforce Coordinator in order to accomplish an efficient daily planning as well as leading our Customs team. On the other hand, you will measure and review technical performance by leading the team of Warehouse Management System Specialists.

Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree/HBO in related fields
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Logistics/warehouse knowledge, preferably in automated logistics, distribution centres, warehouse, or stockroom.
  • Strong technical skills and understanding of WMS (Warehouse Management Systems)
  • Good PC skills – Microsoft Office and Outlook along with knowledge of creating and interrogating spreadsheets and data
  • Knowledge of English and Dutch at a professional level, Spanish is nice to have
  • Management skills, Leadership, motivational skillset
  • High level of planning skills
  • Flexibility, proactiveness and initiative
  • High proficiency in change and conflict management skills
