Shunter Driver
Here at GXO, we’re looking for an experienced Shunter Driver who are looking for stable, consistent work without weekend commitments.
Supporting the Transport Department and Drivers by safely moving units within the yard to allocated spaces to ensure smooth running of the operation.
As a Day Shift Shunter, you’ll be employed on a full‑time, permanent basis, Working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday between the hours of 06:00 – 14:00.

What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Support and liaise with the Transport Department regarding fleet management
- Assist drivers with queries in relation to shunting duties
- Completing all relevant paperwork and maintain accurate data
- Ensure the safe delivery and collection of loads are taking place on site
- Report any defects, hazards and keep loading bays in a tidy condition
- Conduct inspections of vehicles and trailers to maintain a safe and tidy state
- Undertake any other reasonable duties as requested
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- A valid Class 1 driving licence, CPC, and Digi Tacho card
- A clean driving record with no more than 6 penalty points (excluding DR, DG, DD, BA, CD, AC, LC or TT99 endorsements)
- Previous shunting experience – desirable but not essential for the right candidate
- A strong awareness of site Health & Safety standards and the safe movement of vehicles in a busy yard environment
- The flexibility and resilience to work outdoors in all weather conditions
