Inventory Controller

Are you detail‑driven with a passion for inventory accuracy? Do you enjoy working in a fast‑paced warehouse environment where your work makes a real impact on customer service? We’re recruiting an Inventory Controller to join our B&Q contract in Uttoxeter.

 

This is a key position within the operation, responsible for maintaining stock accuracy, integrity, and availability to support smooth and efficient warehouse operations. The role would suit someone who is well organised, confident working in a warehouse or 3PL environment, and motivated by getting it right first time.

 

This is a full‑time, permanent role, working Monday to Friday, covering hours between 08:30 and 16:30.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

 

  • Manage stock accuracy through cycle counts, stocktakes, and discrepancy investigation
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound stock movements to support accurate picking and dispatch
  • Use the WMS to complete inventory transactions and produce stock reports
  • Ensure stock is stored safely and compliantly, supporting audits as required
  • Act as the day‑to‑day stock control contact for the site and customer
  • Support continuous improvement to reduce variances and improve efficiency

 

What you need to succeed at GXO:

 

  • Experience in stock control or inventory management within a warehouse or 3PL environment
  • Good working knowledge of WMS and core warehouse processes
  • A detail‑focused, analytical approach to identifying and resolving stock issues
  • Confidence using WMS and Excel (lookups, pivots)
  • A strong sense of ownership and the ability to work well in a fast‑paced team
