Our Greene King Middleton site is a key operational hub within our Food & Beverage division, supporting safe, legal and efficient operation that consists of large LGV fleet, across multiple depots and customer locations. It’s key that we deliver high operational excellence with safety, within our highly regulated environment, requiring strict adherence to transport legislation, food safety standards, and company policies.
As our Driver Trainer, you will train drivers across our Greene King operations within the North area being based in our Middleton site, contributing to a strong safety culture, high compliance standards, and continuous improvement across the transport operation.
This is a full time, permanent position based on site. Working any 5 from 7 (mostly Monday to Friday), you will be contracted to 37.5 hours per week and start times will rotate 04:00 am, 06:00 am and 08:00 am starts.

What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Lead end-to-end driver training including CPC delivery, onboarding, recruitment assessments, and ongoing driver development
- Deliver mandatory compliance training (tachographs, vehicle safety, manual handling, H&S, fire safety, and operating procedures) within a highly regulated environment
- Maintain accurate, auditable training records while continuously reviewing and improving training materials and delivery methods
- Support operational safety by providing post-incident coaching, driving behavioural improvements, and contributing to reduced incidents and vehicle damage
- Partner with Transport Management to strengthen compliance, standardise training practices, achieve 100% regulatory adherence, and ensure audit readiness across the region
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- Proven LGV driving experience with strong working knowledge of driver hours, tachograph legislation, and working time regulations. (Qualifications required: up to C+E (Class 1) driving licence, valid Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC), PTLLS, AET, or equivalent “Train the Trainer” qualification (or willing to work towards)
- Experience delivering driver training, assessments, and supporting development across a driver workforce
- Confident communicator, able to engage and influence drivers at all levels to drive safe and compliant behaviours
- Strong organisational and planning skills, with solid IT capability across Microsoft Office
- Flexible and proactive approach, with willingness to travel across Northern sites
