Here, at GXO, we're looking for a proactive Health and Safety Advisor to join our River Island operation in Milton Keynes. Working closely with the Health and Safety Manager, you'll play a key role in ensuring all Health, Safety and Environmental matters are managed effectively, supporting compliance, promoting best practice and helping to maintain a positive safety culture across the site. This is an excellent opportunity for a safety professional who enjoys working operationally, building strong stakeholder relationships and making a genuine impact on site performance

 

This is a full time, permanent position working Monday to Friday 08:00 – 16:00 with flexibility required.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

 

  • Review and create risk assessments and safe systems of work across warehouse operations
  • Carry out site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with company policies, legislation and ISO standards
  • Investigate incidents, analyse data and produce meaningful reports and recommendations to drive improvements
  • Coordinate monthly health and safety meetings, maintaining accurate statistics, KPIs and management information

What you need to succeed at GXO:

 

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in an operationally focused Health & Safety role
  • NVQ Level 3 or NEBOSH General Certificate, with a commitment to continuing professional development
  • Strong working knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental legislation and compliance requirement
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels
  • A proactive, detail-oriented approach with a passion for driving continuous improvement and promoting a positive safety culture
