Here at GXO, we're looking for an experienced Health and Safety Manager to join our River Island operation in Milton Keynes. Reporting directly to the General Manager, you'll lead the site's Health, Safety, Environmental and facilities agenda, ensuring legal compliance, driving best practice and embedding a proactive safety culture across the operation. This is a highly visible leadership role where you'll work closely with senior stakeholders, operational and specialist teams to deliver our Road to Zero strategy, manage compliance programmes and champion continuous improvement. This is a full time, permanent position working Monday to Friday 08:00 – 16:00 with the necessary flexibility required for this senior role

What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Lead the site's Health, Safety and Environmental strategy, ensuring full compliance with legislation and GXO standards
- Oversee facilities, engineering and contractor management activities, ensuring safe and complaint site operations
- Manage incident reporting, investigations, risk assessments and corrective actions to reduce risk and prevent recurrence
- Lead audit activity, compliance programmes and tactical risk improvement plans, ensuring actions are completed within agreed timescales
- Coach, influence and support managers and colleagues on all aspects of QHSE, training requirements and legislative compliance
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in a Health & Safety leadership role within a complex, fast-paced operational environment
- NEBOSH General Certificate or NVQ Level 3 as a minimum, with additional qualifications such as IOSH, Fire Safety, Environmental or DGSA highly desirable
- Membership of a recognised Health & Safety professional body
- Proven experience managing compliance, audits, investigations, policies and continuous improvement initiative, ideally within logistics or automated enviroments
- Strong leadership, coaching and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence change and drive exceptional safety performance
