Planning Team Manager

Dedicated to the M&S ambient food operation at Milton Keynes, you’ll be responsible for leading all aspects of operational planning on site, ensuring resource and capacity plans are in line with customer volume forecasts and budgeted cost expectations.
This is a full-time, permanent role. The working hours are Monday to Friday 08:00 – 16:00, with some flexibility required. This is logistics after all!

You’ll be paid a salary of up to £40,000 - £45,000 per annum depending upon experience. What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Through deployment and team management support in the overall planning of the operational volumes, to ensure the required resources are on site, by area, by day
- Analysing and preparing data to support the operational departments with mid to long term forecasts to maximise efficiency
- Provide regular, timely updates for our customer and communicate with the operational team
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement by being involved in CI initiatives / projects and developing support structures through CI training workshops, to ensure that organisational forecasting and planning continues to improve
- Lead, coach and develop the team; responsible for all people processes during the lifecycle of an employee, including T&A management, recruitment & selection, appraisal, and talent
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- Experience in demand, capacity, and resource planning, preferably in third party logistics or a similar environment
- Be analytical with a high level of IT capability, including building and developing spreadsheets and databases to manipulate data
- Confident communication skills as you’ll be liaising with multiple functions across the business, such as operations, finance and HR, senior management and the customer
- You’ll need to work well on your own initiative, taking responsibility for processes and your workload, as well as that of your team
