ER Advisor

Are you confident handling complex ER cases and guiding managers through them? Can you challenge constructively while staying fair, ethical and solution-focused? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same?

We are looking for an ER Advisor to join our Currys site in Newark. As an ER Advisor, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting operational and functional teams with all aspects of employee relations. Working closely with site leadership and the ER Manager, you’ll provide expert, practical advice across a wide range of people matters — from absence and conduct to organisational change — ensuring best practice, compliance, and a positive workplace culture.

This is a full-time, permanent role working Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 17:00. Some flexibility is required as this is logistics after all.

Pay, benefits and more:

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £37,169.50 per annum and 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays). Your benefits package includes flexible dental insurance plans, a company sponsored pension scheme, a 24/7 online GP service, life assurance and a fully comprehensive employee assistance programme. You’ll also have access to our MyBenefits platform offering a variety of high street discounts, a cycle to work scheme, cashback cards, a saving scheme and much more!

What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Provide expert advice and guidance on absence, conduct, capability, grievance and wider ER matters
  • Coach and support managers to confidently handle ER cases in a timely, consistent and compliant way
  • Monitor ER trends, produce insights, and support continuous improvement across the site
  • Assist in delivering the ER People Plan, including supporting change programmes and development initiatives

What you need to succeed at GXO:

  • CIPD Level 3 or 5 (or working towards) or QBE experience in an HR/ER advisory role
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and ability to apply policies in a practical, solution-focused way
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with confidence to challenge and build credibility
  • Highly organised, analytical and able to manage a varied caseload in a fast-paced environment

We engineer faster, smarter, leaner supply chains.
