Operations Manager

If you answered yes, then GXO has an exciting opportunity to an Operations Manager at our Ollerton site. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced operational leader to take ownership of site performance, drive continuous improvement, and lead a team of Shift Managers to deliver outstanding service, productivity, and safety standards.
As Operations Manager, you’ll provide leadership and direction to Shift Managers, ensuring operational excellence across the site while maintaining a safe, engaged, and customer-focused culture.
This is a full-time, permanent position. You will work on a ‘4 on 4 off’ basis, covering the hours of 19:00 till 07:00.

What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Lead, coach and develop a team of Shift Managers, creating a high-performing culture focused on engagement, accountability and results
- Drive operational performance against agreed KPIs, SLAs, productivity targets and customer service expectations
- Champion a safety-first culture, ensuring compliance with all Health & Safety policies, procedures and training requirements
- Manage operational planning and labour resource utilisation to ensure service excellence during peak and seasonal demands periods
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives that reduce costs, improve efficiencies and enhance site performance
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- Proven experience managing multiple direct reports at Shift Manager level or equivalent within a fast-paced logistics or warehouse operation
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach and develop large operational teams
- Experience working within an eCommerce, retail distribution or high-volume warehouse environment
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret operational data and make informed decisions
- Strong planning, prioritisation and organisational skills, with the ability to perform effectively under pressure and adapt quickly to changing priorities
