Here at GXO Newark we are recruiting for a Warehouse Operatives to join our team, supporting our customer, Currys. From receiving and storing products to picking, packing, and dispatching orders you will be involved in all aspects of our warehouse operations.

 

You will be working on a full-time, permanent basis, we are currently recruiting for the following patterns:

 

  • 4 on 4 off, day shift, with shifts starting at 06:30, 06:45 or 07:00
  • 4 on 4 off, night shift, with shifts starting at 18:30, 18:45 or 19:00

As a Warehouse Operative, there’s lots that we can offer you:

  • An hourly rate of £13.26 per hour as a Warehouse Operative
  • An hourly rate of £13.48 per hour if you hold and use LLOP/PPT certificate of competence
  • An hourly rate of £14.26 per hour if you hold and use FLT certificate of competence (Reach, Counterbalance or VNA)
  • Night shift premiums of 20% between 20:00 and 00:00 and 30% between 00:00 and 07:00

What you’ll do on a typical day:

 

  • Carry out a variety of warehouse duties including goods-in, putaway, picking, packing, loading and despatch activities using warehouse management systems and RF scanners
  • Safely operate warehouse equipment and mechanical handling equipment (where trained and authorised) while following all site processes and safe working practices
  • Support inventory accuracy by reporting stock discrepancies, conducting stock counts and assisting with investigations where required
  • Maintain high standards of quality, productivity and housekeeping while working towards individual and team targets
  • Work closely with colleagues and other departments to ensure the smooth running of the operation and excellent service for our customer

 

What you need to succeed at GXO:

 

  • Previous warehouse experience would be beneficial, although full training can be provided
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills with the ability to follow instructions and work to deadlines
  • A positive, reliable approach with the ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience operating MHE equipment, including LLOP, PPT, Reach Truck, Counterbalance or VNA, would be advantageous but is not essential
  • A strong commitment to Health & Safety and delivering excellent service for our customer
