Control Room Manager

Here at GXO, we are looking for a talented individual to take the role of Control Room Manager to join our site in Northampton. You will be responsible for optimising warehouse storage, capacity utilisation, SKU management, workflow efficiency, and operational control. Leads data‑driven planning, drives site productivity.

 

 

This role is full time, permanent position, working Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm though some flexibility may be required.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

 

  • Monitor storage utilisation across all zones and prevent over‑capacity or under‑use.
  • Forecast future space needs based on inbound profiles, SKU growth, customer demand, and seasonal patterns.
  • Conduct capacity vs. demand modelling and prepare for peak or promotional activity.
  • Analyse volume fluctuations and recommend mitigation actions.
  • Manage consolidation activities to optimise space and improve pick path efficiency.

 

What you need to succeed at GXO:

 

  • Solid management experience, ideally within an e-commerce or automation environment
  • Shows a strong passion for driving operational performance and continually seeking opportunities to improve processes and procedures.
  • Exhibits strong time‑management skills and maintains effective communication across all levels.
  • Qualifications in WMS, data management, SQL, or Microsoft applications would be advantageous.
